What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Knee?

I have ongoing pain, tenderness and knots at the side, bend of the right knee and the tenderness goes down from where the knot is. I had a vascular ultrasound which I was told was negative for blood clots. What else can it be? It has been going on for about a wee and getting worse, the area is enlarging. Thankyou

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to knee trauma or injury.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

For further assessment you may require MRI knee after orthopedician consultation.

In case of swelling you may require aspiration after orthopedician consultation.

Use knee cap.

Use support while walking.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale, Family and general physician
