What Causes Pain And Swelling On The Foot?

I have bruises on my calves around my ankle area that about six inches in diameter that occur when i bruised my leg. they have been there about a year. I went to hav ethem checked out and they said no blodd clots. However, they are sore around the the circumference of the spots. In addition, I was experiences pain in my big toe and swelling in my foot and ankle. In my right leg my veins are beginning to expand and a few smal bruises about the size of a quarter. If I sit long, it s painful to walk for a few minutes until the circulation occurs.
