Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and swelling in left leg while having diabetes . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like standing for prolonged periods of time , taking certain antidepressants, such as tricyclic , blood clot , infection , venous insufficiency or organ failure like kidney and liver . Apart from that the swelling of legs can also occur due to hypertension. I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination. Doctor may order kidney function test , liver function test , urine test along with checking vitals . Doctor may prescribe calcium channel blockers along with diuretics . Doctor may also refer you to nephrologist for kidney problem or gastroenterologist for liver problem . For now lower your salt consumption and keep your leg elevated while sleeping .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
