What Causes Pain And Swelling In Knuckle Of Middle Finger?
I have a lot of pain in the knuckle of my middle finger(like a bad bruise but there is no discoloration)& it is slightly swollen. A few weeks ago I was doing something menial& lightly hit it on something& my knuckle immediately swelled up&turned very dark purple. After 30minnutes or so it went away. Any idea of what this could be from? Thank You for any answers you can offer
DDear patient You have got bruise on middle finger from trauma. Since pain is persistant possibility of underlying fracture cannot be ruled out. I would advise radiograph of involved hand anteroposterior and lateral views to confirm diagnosis. Skin discolouration due to bruise take time to disappear so do not worry about it. Start taking trypsin and chymoral sin combination to reduce swelling. If radiograph report comes abnormal take visit to hand specialist.
