What Causes Pain And Swelling In Knee After An Injury?

Hello, yesterday I missed the last step and fell on the ground with my left knee. I immediately felt pain around my knee down to my foot and toes. it swelled a little at that point. I cannot put any weight on it or straighten it out. It is still swollen (but not drastically) my knee and around it is a little pink but no brusing. The pain is about an 8. As far as looking normal to the eye it pretty much does (other then the swelling and pink) I have been alternating ice with heat it does help a bit but not much. Do you think I just jared it up real good or do you think it's more?

Hi,

I have gone through your query.

You should get xray of affected knee done in AP and Lateral view done and send me the report, I want to see whether any fracture is present or not.

Your further treatment would depend upon xray findings. Till then you can ibuprofen as painkiller when required.

Do not apply cold and heat alternatively, apply cold only for 3 more days.

I hope it helps.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
