What Causes Pain And Sores Around Vagina?
My wife is just getting over being in the hospital with very much pain around her vagina. Sores popped up and in less than a week they are almost gone. A nurse practitioner told her she was sure she has herpes. We have been married three years and no other sex partners. She has had itching in the same area for a little while. She said it looked like small cuts before sores came up. What do you think?

Herpes can cause painful lesions like this. Herpes may be due to reactivation of primary infection. So, she need not have any other partner to get this. Please take her to some doctor for examination and further management. All the best.
