What Causes Pain And Redness In Eyes While Recovering From Chest Pain?
I have a chest pain that comes and goes the pain last for a few minutes I thought it was a muscular pain but it has extended. It starts with a big sharp pain and slowly diminished. Also my eye turn red like if I scratch my eye red. It only happens in one eye and when I have that sharp pain. Thank you
Pain and redness in the eyes commonly occur due to allergy, fatigue, over wearing contact lenses or conjunctivitis. Bacterial conjunctivitis is usually treated with ophthalmic antibiotic eye drops Bleph (sulfacetamide sodium) or Romycin (erythromycin) eye drops applied 2-3 times two times daily in both the eyes. Allergy is treated with over-the-counter eyedrops called artificial tears or eye drops that contain antihistamines.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an Eye specialist before applying eye drops. However, some times redness in the eyes may be indicative of serious medical conditions like hypertension ( hypertensive retinopathy) or developing CAD. You should get clinically assessed & get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
