What Causes Pain And Poor Blood Circulation In The Legs?

My father had a triple bi-pass 7 years ago and has been experiencing pains and poor circulation in his legs. He says they feel like they are burning from the inside. He exercises regularly and says the feeling subsides temporarily but lately it seems to be getting worse. He is 82. He had a vein removed from his right leg for his bi-pass. Is there anything else he can be doing or taking for this condition. He says it is Shaky leg syndrome? Never heard of this, but it sounds like a nerve problem or brain problem to me? What do you suggest? Sharon

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to peripheral vascular disease.

Long-standing cholesterol or smoking might have predisposed to this condition.

Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.

Drugs like Cilostazol can help a bit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
