General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Vytorin is a combination of two medications, Simvastatin and Eztimibe. Simvastatin, as one of the statin medications, can cause joint or muscle pain in some people. It is also possible that the pain is solely related to the changes in your bone.

You should discuss the option of discontinuing the Vytorin at least for 1 to 2 weeks, with your doctor. If there is no change in the pain, then it is not related, if it decrease, then you know that the Vytorin is contributing to your discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
