What Causes Pain And Nausea After Missing Periods?
I am a 30 year old female with type 1 diabetes. I am concerned regarding a very late period. I use a condom with my boyfriend and in March it broke. I took a morning after pill that same day. I then proceeded to have two periods in April-one at the beginning of the month and the other towards the end. I had no period in May and still do not have one. I have no cramps or pms. I ve taken about 10 pregnancy tests all negative. I have an appointment with my gynaecologist july 16th. Why I am concerned is this evening I have moderate pain in my lower abdomen and pelvis. I have more flatulance than normal and nauseated. The pain is worse on my right lower quadrant and is tender to touch. I have no vaginal bleeding. Is this something I should e concerned about? The pharmacist told me my cycle could be changing and that it should not be an ectopic pregnancy. I am concerned and cannot get to a clinic until tomorrow afternoon. Could this be menstrual cramps just intensified? I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you so much. --Natalie
Your pregnancy tests are reliable when taken 10 days after your missed period or 2 weeks after sexual intercourse. Missed period in the absence of pregnancy can occur due to hormonal changes, stress or newer medications. I would recommend you to take a pelvic scan and thyroid function test to rule out any abnormalities.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
