What Causes Pain And Imbalance In The Knees?

My left knee just gave out under me suddenly and I fell. Right knee hurts when walking. I could not put weight on left knee this morning when I got out of bed. Stiff after sitting even for a short period of time. What causes a knee to go out like that?

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to injury to internal structures of Knee like menisci or ligaments. Better to take a X ray to rule out bony injuries. Immobilization in knee brace,ice pack application and ibuprofen will be helpful. If not improving after 6 weeks then a MRI and arthroscopic correction might be required.
