What Causes Pain And Dry Skin After Receiving Prolia Shots?
I have had three Prolia shots. The last one mid Dec. 2016. No side effects until the 3rd shot. Much pain and dry peeling skin. My doctor thought I had a reaction and prescribed pregnazone (sp?) I m much better but now I am noticing when I eat that the back of my tongue on the right side aches, (no sores). I have to eat very slowly. It doesn t bother me at all unless I m eating. I m wondering if it s from the Prolia. YYYY@YYYY I thought this was a service from Prolia. What a scam!
I understand your concern. You seem to be suffering from pharingitis, which is one of the known side effects of Prolia. It causes irritation to the back of the throat and tongue, causing pain and discomfort. As for the dry skin, that is not a known side effects of Prolia, but since this injection is associated with multi-organ side effects, including skin rashes, it is very probable that it could also be the culprit in this case. I recommend you talk to your doctor about switching to another osteoporosis fighting drug. However, you should be aware that most of these drugs are not without side effects.
I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best.
