What Causes Pain And Cracking Sound In Left Thumb Inspite Of Taking Antibiotics?
Hi Dr. Andrew,2 weeks ago my left tumb was painful & swollen, Doc said i had an inflammation and she gave me antibiotics (1gm a tablet) and painkiller for 7 days. even the swollen has disappered but the bones inside the thumb is still painfull but less. now i even ended with a clicking thumb (below the thumb nail).am i have osteorarthritis or is it someting else. i am now 53 yrs old and an asian. will the clicking go away? thanks

You have Trigger thumb. This can be treated with anti inflammatory Medicine like Ibuprofen but in most cases requires surgery.
