You have not mentioned your age , but fall may be precipitating cause of vertebral fracture or disc prolapse in adult and elderly. The symptoms narrated by you seems to be due to nerve root compression and associated numbness requires urgent neuroimaging of spine to decide further course of action. I will advice to seek consultation of a neurologist/neurosurgeon for proper assessment.
