General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hives/wales most commonly occur as a result of allergic reactions. An allergic reaction can occur to almost any agent - food, drink, medication, herbs

Some persons also develop hives in response to less common causes such as exposure to sun, cold or warm water, pressure on the skin, exercise , emotional stress etc

You should consider the use of an antihistamine to help with your reaction but you need to speak to your doctor if the pain continues or worsens.

I hope this helps
