Hello,

I really appreciate your concern, the symptoms could be suggestive of protozoan infection and it can be given try with Metronidazole syrup. Dose can be adjusted according to the weight, ideally, stool needs to be sent for lab examination. The treatment here just being suggested on a tentative basis, otherwise, pediatrician is the last judge.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
