What Causes Oozing Of Pus From The Wound On Nose?

I had an incision a couple of weeks ago regarding a black mole on my nose. the doctor was able to cut it out and is doing a biopsy and should get a result in a week. I have had puss and redness that is getting worse. what can I do? I put polysporn on it but it doesn t help. I put a bandage on it. it s very itchy and sore and the redness has spread.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is likely that the incision site is infected.

Since it's not responding to topical treatment , you would need to consider seeing your doctor for oral antibiotics.

In addition to the course of oral antibiotics, you would also need to clean the area twice daily with an antiseptic.
If there is pain, you can use an anti inflammatory pain killer such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen.

I hope this helps
