What Causes Numbness On The Toe After Knee Replacement?

I had my left knee replaced 2/14/17, and got along really well. The doctor even released me early. Since before my replacement, the toe next to my big toe has been numb or tingling. My feet and left leg have been swelling up real badly since before the surgery and it has all been blamed on that. Now though, it s still doing it. Should I be worried about the numbness and tingling? I am also on blood pressure meds and about 10-15 years ago I had a couple of tia s . Since my surgery I have also put on weight.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
welcome to healthcare magic.

Your tingling and numbness on toe may be due to compression of a nerve.

As you have put on weight, it may be worsened.

So after knee replacement, it may gradually develop as it will again compress the nerve.

Have a better health
