What Causes Numbness On The Thumbs?

My thumb became a bit numb when I was training for table tennis this morning, and it is still there 6 hours later. When playing it was about a 7 numb, now its about a 4. Just the final cm or so of my thumb. Is this something common for table tennis players nerves in the elbow or shoulder that might make the thumb numb? I also have minor back issues, especially lately, but never any nerve symptoms like numbness. I m 33, male, 150lb 5 9 and quite fit. I also have been doing pull ups for the past week everyday, which is a new routine, however i didnt have numbness until training today. Not really sure what else might cause this. I m also curious if this is common and how long i can expect to see symptoms. I would ideally like to identify the problem and correct it without stopping my exercise. Thanks man

Hello,

Numbness of the thumb or other fingers may be due to nerve compressions like carpal tunnel syndrome or numbness may due to chronic pressure. So take rest from tennis, use B complex tablets once a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
