What Causes Numbness On The Calf After A Lower Back Fusion Surgery?
Hello , I had lower back fusion surgery May 31 st. of this year. since then, I can only limp, have burning, stinging and numbness in my left front calf. I have swelling in this calf most of the time. My surgeon has me on Gabepentin 300 mg. 1 capsule 3 x per day. Should I maybe see a neurologist or have a nerve conduction test done ? I have no reflexes in this left calf. This left leg was injured in a motorcycle accident over 40 yrs. ago & have had slight numbness in this left calf in a small area ever since then. Thank You. Shirley

What Causes Numbness On The Calf After A Lower Back Fusion Surgery?
Hello, It could be due to nerve impingement. It is better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan to make a better clinical assessment. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
