What Causes Numbness In The Vagina?

Hi, me and my boyfriend are sexually active and just recently I haven t been able to feel anything during sex. And not the I can t orgasm kind of not feeling anything. I mean, I can t PHYSICALLY feel anything inside of my vagina during penetration (not even when I masturbate). It s just kind of numb. Is something medically wrong with me and should I be going to the doctor, or will it pass and just be a phase?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should visit a Gynae in ER & get examined. The most common cause is Yeast infection & Trichomonas vaginal infection. Take care of your hygiene & go for protected sex. Take the necessary medications needed along with probiotics. Take calcium rich food & vit C & E. Your Gynae may refer you to a Neurologist, if you have sensation problems in your clitoris, get all investigations done & get treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
