What Causes Numbness In The Lips?

Numbness of lips, and broken speach pattern while talking on phone. I took two chewable baby aspirins. That was 30 min ago. It seams to have cleared up however it has never happened before. What could have happened. I am 80 yrs old if that makes a difference.

Hi Dear ,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of numbness in the lips which are indicative of vitamin B12 deficiency, low blood sugar level in your body, calcium, potassium deficiency and due t nerve impingement.

I would suggest you to visit general practitioner once and get your HbA1c levels checked and go for testing of blood tests and random and fasting blood glucose and start treatment accordingly. Apply warm compresses on lips and take multivitamin tablets. Keep brushing twice daily and use Listerine mouth wash. Do flossing twice a week at least.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
