Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been prescribed Nitroglycerin Transdermal infusion patches for angina. He put a patch on around 10:00 and now at 3:30 he is experiencing numbness (pins and needle) sensation in his left arm, across upper chest and jaw and on the bottoms of his feet. Could it be caused by the patch?
No these symptoms are not due to Nitroglycerine patch.
Since he is having angina pain, better to rule out coronary artery disease (CAD) for his symptoms. So, immediately take him to cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, ECG, 2D echo and stress test (trade mill test). He may need angiography if any of the above mentioned tests is positive.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
