What Causes Numbness And Tingling In The Feet?

For 18 yeas I have had numbness and tingleing in my feet.after 2 months of chiro care he has been trying to straighten my lower spine , now the tingleing has advanced to just below my knees. Is this nerve damage and will it get better? All of this started with lower back pain.
