What Causes Numbness And Soreness In The Big Toe?

my big toe and the next one to it are sore and numbish and I seem to have to urinate a lot more than I used too. My urine seems a lot more yellow and darker too. this is all on my left foot and my left leg does feel a lot weaker also. I have become extremely concerned lately. I do take a lot of vitamins but I m divorced and now a junk food junkie. I m 6 1 170 lbs. 57 yrs. old. I am a recovering alcoholic. Please advise? Thank You! TP

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You sound to be dehydrated but also vitamin ingestion can discolor the urine and make it darker. However, first I would make sure that you were drinking generous amounts of WATER, JUICES, and limiting the amount of CAFFEINE through beverages or even foods. If your leg is weak and not feeling normal from a sensory perspective you may have SCIATICA. This requires a neurological examination and possible electrical testing. Find a neurologist in your area and make an appointment to be tested.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
