What Causes Numbness And Burning Sensation On The Soles Of The Feet?

I just tested my blood glucose ( sugar) with my mom s test monitor. The device measured my level at 309. Several weeks ago it measured 228. I ve not been diagnosed with diabetes. Are these levels cause for concern? I also have constant numbness & burning in the soles of my feet. Do I, in your opinion, have diabetes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on the glucose levels what you have mentioned, the values are definitely indicating to be higher than normal. Hence, it appears that you could be having diabetes.
Increased glucose levels could have affected your peripheral nerves, which could be causing numbness and burning sensation in soles and feet.
Kindly get your fasting glucose and post-prandial glucose levels done along with HbA1c (Glycated Hemoglobin) level.
Consult Diabetologist or Physician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
