What Causes Neuropathic Pain In The Lower Body?

Hi I had a head injury in my teens which resulted in a crainectomy. I am now 47 and have been experiencing neuropathic pain in my lower body, challenges with cognitive functioning, depression and anxiety. Could these symptoms be related to my head injury and if so what can I do to determine this? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, there is the possibility of developing late fibrosis/changes in the part operated/handled at the time of craniotomy... which can cause local compression on brain tissue to cause these symptoms.

MRI of the brain would clear the diagnosis. You should consult a neuro physician for specific advise after confirming the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
