I have had significant neck pain and limited side to side movement and have had for several years. It casues me to develop a migraine headache. The Pain Management suggested that I contact a neurologist to determine if I have cervical dystonia? how do you diagnose that and what are the common symptoms?

Hi,

You can consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan.

The symptoms are mainly painful neck movements and involuntary spasm. We can diagnose with the help of an MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
