What Causes Nausea While Sleeping?

I have woken up maybe twice in the past month with the urge to vomit. I just had the urge again after a dentist visit after a fluoride treatment. I was given a high fluoride toothpaste last time I went to help with teeth sensitivity issues that I am not supposed to rinse after use but I am not sure if I used it on the nights before I woke up with the urge to vomit. I am not pregnant. m

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Massage of fluroid paste on sensitive teeth and gargle after half to one hour is normal way of treatment. Keeping paste on teeth overnight can instigate nausea.

You should use it as described and in case the nausea is not controlled, consult your dentist and physician to know other causes of your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
