What Causes Nausea, Appetite Loss And Sickness After Having Unprotected Oral Sex?

I am a man who has had unprotected oral sex, both giving and receiving, without coming into contact with semen. It was 9 days ago that I had oral sex and started worrying about STDs and started feeling kind of sick. I had some nausea and loss of apetite. I started feeling a bit better but I don t know if it s my anxiety or if I actually caught something. I researched STDs and am mainly worried about Hepatitis. I also live with my family and worry about spreading.

Hi,

Definitely, chances of having STD by MSM (man having sex with man) are more as compared to others. However in your case, the symptoms you describe, cannot be due to hepatitis as an STD. In hepatitis A incubation period (Time between infection and appearance of symptoms) is average 28 days, range being 15-50 days where as incubation period in case of hepatitis B is an average 90 days and range being 60-150 days.

BUT as it is only 9th day after exposure, the symptoms you are having. Therefore presently your symptoms are not due to hepatitis as a result of present sexual exposure. However, it does not rule out presence of an STD and you may require further investigations in this regard. Still your present symptoms seem more due to anxiety & not due to STD.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
