General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Provera contains 'medroxyprogesterone'. It is a progestin hormone.
It is used to treat certain menstrual problems like abnormal bleeding or lack of menstrual period.
What symptoms you are experiencing are some of the side effects of the medication. However, these symptoms would eventually subside on its own and does not require any intervention.
Consume healthy diet and drink good quantities of fluids to keep yourself well hydrated.
Once you stop the medication, your periods should happen by 3 days to 1 week. In case you do not get your periods beyond 1 week, you need to seek medical attention promptly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
