What Causes Nausea And Dizziness After Exposure To Bright Light?

My co-worker has a desk light that is so bright and the position of the light is standing horizontally facing very close to her eyes. She put the light about 6 inches close to her left eyes. I was feeling nausea and dizzy and very uncomfortable with the brightness. I asked her nicely if she could move the light a little further so it will not shine my eyes, or if the desk lamp can face down not titled upright. She agreed and took it away but the next day, she brought in another desk lamp and is not that powerful but still has extreme brightness because it is titled up halfway and close to her eyes. I suspect this is a happy light to treat SAD. I read in the internet this happy light has 10,000 lux, and usually office desk light is only 300 lux. Is there something wrong with my eyes because I am sensitive to the light, or she is being inconsiderate and she went to report to my boss? I want doctor s opinion so I can tell my boss that I am not being inconsiderate. If she only use our office desk light and put it by her computer and not so close to her eyes as the light will shine my left eye and cause me nausea and dizzy. Wonder why she has to bring her own light from home?
