What causes nausea and diarrhea along with excessive sleepiness?

My son has been fighting nausea and diarrhea for three weeks. Feels like he's going to throw up, but hasn't. He sleeps for hours and hours a day, just wiped out. Checked his vitamin D, Thyroid, and for Celiac-they all came back great. What should I be looking for and what am I missing to help him...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Certain common conditions are there and that may cause the symptom of vomiting or nausea and that is, food allergy, acid peptic disease, Anorexia narvosa, all these needs to be rule out and if found positive for any of these disease then condition needs to be managed accordingly, just a complain of vomiting is great challenge for physician, and does not have any clue, routine tests are normal one, natural remedies are there in absence of any pathology.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi, my sister is 75 years old. She had severe diarrhea last night. She got absolutely no sleep through the night. Today she is EXTREMELY sleepy and has slurred speech. She is so tired she has trouble remembering how to order a coffee drink she get a couple times a week. I just called her and she sounds no better. She has a small dog who has to go outside to do his business so she has tried to sleep on and off during the day but has been awaken by her dog to go out. She has had bladder infections before and acted strangely. Is it possible she could have a bladder infection. Thank you so much for your input

Hello, I ate a double cheeseburger 3 days ago and my liver had a hard time with it. After that, I haven t eaten anything. During the first night I was very sleepy and felt like vomiting, lots of diarrhea. 3 days later I don t feel like vomiting and my bowel movements are somewhat solid again (even though I haven t eaten anything). I don t plan to eat for another 3-5 days to give my organs time to rest. Also, last night I sweated alot during sleep. Should I be worried?

hi. My brother has been sick since Christmas Eve. Sleeping a lot. stomach ache, with bloating and full feeling, but no vomiting or diarrhea. No fever. He was constipated today. Has eaten some, but not interested in eating tonight. He will go to a walk-in clinic tomorrow. Any clues as to what this could be?
