What Causes Nausea And Abdominal Bloating Along With Vaginal Spotting?
Hi! My last period ended on the 5th July. On the 15th July i had unprotected sex. Since then I have been feeling nauseous and bloated. On the 8th August I had safe sex, on the 9th I started having cramps then later when I went to the bathroom I noticed light blood when I wiped. I thought that was the start of my normal period but today it s the 11th and I m still seeing drops of blood when I pee and a little on my pad. Cramps are gone. I normally have heavy bleeding. This is new. Please help.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sandhya's Response
Hello. Unprotected intercourse around the 15th of July could be during the fertile window which may have high chances of conception. Since there was no normal period and only symptoms like spotting and cramps were noticed around the time of the next period, it is important to exclude the possibilities of pregnancy by taking a urine pregnancy test. Sometimes, emergency contraceptive pills can also result in light period, changes in the menstrual cycle, etc. It is important to exclude the chances of pregnancy in the first place.
