What Causes Nasal Itchiness And Drainage While Treating Acid Reflux?
Hi This past weekend I rode with a friend for 5 hours to go to a Casino. When almost there I started smelling smoke. Then it was gone but I started selling it again when we were driving back those 5 hours. It was gone this morning, now for the last 3 hrs I smell it again. I do have acid reflex and pro to sinus infections, as well as seasonal allergies. My nose has been itchy, tonight I have a little drainage and it taste yucky. Could it be a sinus infection? Or mold spore from my friends car causing this. I had this happen a year ago and after a few days it went away. I started taking Zyrtec today. I also take a prescription for gerd/acid reflex for a couple of years now. I am puzzled, any insight?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of nasal allergy is more likely. No need to worry for Sinus infection. Smoke inhalation can cause allergic reactions in susceptible individuals and your symptoms like itching, nasal discharge etc are more suggestive of nasal allergy. Zyrtec is good drug for this. So continue with Zyrtec. Also drink plenty of water and do steam inhalation 4-5 times a day. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
