What Causes Muscle Weakness And Dizziness After A Dilated Eye Exam?
I had my eyes dilated today by eye dr. After a few seconds of two drops in each eye I felt dizzy ! That was at 5:00 pm today. I then got home my throat felt like it was getting smaller muscle weakness very dizzy and just feel strange is this normal to still have muscle weakness numbing tonight ? Thx
Hello dear Understand your concern. Drop used for dilating eye have dilating and mydiatric action that paralyze the cilliary muscle and dilate the pupils.
If homatropine is used: action will goes in 2-3 days But if atropine is used: its last for 2-10 days. So it is side effects of dilating drop. hope this may help you. Best regards Dr. sagar

Hello dear Understand your concern. Drop used for dilating eye have dilating and mydiatric action that paralyze the cilliary muscle and dilate the pupils. Followings systemic side effects occur: tachycardia, hypertension, headache, faintness. pallor, trembling, excessive sweating, palpitations, arrhythmias, confusion, hallucinations, drowsiness, high fever, dry mouth, convulsions, nervousness.
