What Causes Muscle Spasms In The Stomach While Suffering From Fever?

Hello, my 10 year old daughter has had a fever of 100.9 for two days. The muscles in her legs and stomach (under her rib cage) have been spasming. She feels nautious and has a severe headache. What could be happening? Should this be a reason for the emergency room?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

All these seem to be related to a viral illness. All these non-specific symptoms seem to be related to a common viral illness. Unless there is green or bilious vomiting, incessant vomiting, blood in stools or seizures, you need not worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Sumanth Amperayani
