Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing leg cramps/muscle spasms this past week, mostly at night but not always. I have been drinking tonic water with quinine before bed and it has helped some but I am still having problems. They just reoccurred now when I was stretched out in my recliner. Any suggestions?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic forum. I understand your concerns. There exist sevral causes but most common is nutritients isufficiency and lack of magnesium, calcium or vitamin D may be underlying cause. So you should have these supplements first or check its levels in blood.Second, it may be sign of diabetes or other methbolic neuropathy and third it may be sign of arterial occlusive disease. To investigate the latter, you should do doppler ultraosund and neuropathy. I hope I have answered your query. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
