What Causes Muscle Ache And Nose Congestion?

Hi Doctor I took a rapid HIV test that came back negative 5 weeks after PEP treatment and 9 weeks after exposure. However, I have been experiencing flashes of muscle pain and no other symptoms except a stuffy nose. What are the chances of results altering at 12 weeks after exposure and 8 weeks after PEP Thank you in advance

hi thanks for asking
Just it would have been much better if you have explained why did you take PEP
means if we could know your source of exposure
Infection after exposure depend upon amount of blood or genital fluids exposure
in other words you are practicing anal sex then your chances of infection are more as compared with regular sex
similarly for medico people exposure via hollow needle is more then solid
and also if the person is having high viral load you will have more infection
Now regarding drugs and you are negative for 8 weeks then getting positive result at 12 weeks are very less
regarding muscle pain, myopathy is common side effect of anti HIV drugs
please do consult and get yourself registered for exposure
wish you luck
