Hello. For the past seven years I have been dealing with something I ve just recently found out is called mucus fishing syndrome. Basically a bunch of stringy white eye mucus builds up in my eyes and I compulsively pick it out due to anxiety and severe OCD. When I was a kid I d pull my eyelashes out, it gradually moved on to this. These last 6 months the white stringy things are Constant and I can t go 5 min without picking them out of my eyes. It affects me going to school, as I m only 16. Now it s moved on to my upper eyelid and the stringy things harden on my eye and I literally pull it off my eye. Now there s this big glob of it in the middle of my eyeball. I pulled it, and it was like a thin layer of skin. My eye hurt very bad afterwards. The next morning the glob returned, and again I picked it off and there was a very small cut underneath it. this has been happening for 4 days now and I m very worried and I don t know what to do. Can you help me please??
