What Causes Mucous In Stools And Gas Formation?
I am 67 years old and off and on I have passed mucous in my stools and I freak out every time. This started in my 20's. I have had a lot of burning in my anus. Doctor said I had hemmrhoids. I also have a lot of gas. I am so stressed and this seems to make it worse. Of course, I think I have cancer.

I really appreciate your concern, the given symptom of mucus in stool and burning sensation could be the cause of Giardiasis and it could be chronic one if I would be doctor of this case then I would try to treat this with Tab Sacnidazole 1 g once in day, ideally for this condition stool needs to be sent for culture sensitivity test hope this information helps.
