General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As a physician I would like to tell you that delayed period for 5 months along with negative HPT points to many conditions, one in particular is polycystic ovarian disease. Thus, I would recommend you to visit a OBGY doctor as soon as possible to get examined, evaluated and to start the necessary medication which will regulate your periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
