What Causes Missed Period And Brown Vaginal Spotting While HPT Is Negative?
I have irregular periods and haven t had a period for 1 year now and as of today I am having brown spotting when I wipe and mild cramping. I am currently sexual active trying to conceive. So I would like to know why am I spotting brown. I took 3 dipstick test all negative results.

The brown spotting in sexually active female may be of concern with vaginal or cervical infection most likely. The following measures will help you:
- Plenty of liquids
- Vaginal douching with Betadine or hydrogen peroxide
- Anti-septic care of external genitalia
- Swab culture of vaginal or cervical scrapping or discharge
- Supportive care with antibiotic, anti fungal medications as per the choice of your treating gynecologist
