What Causes Misalignment Of Lower Teeth After Using Braces?

Hi.im wearing braces for about 8 months already,i have tooth extractions on my lower 6 both left and right when i was a child, i noticed that my lower teeth are moving too much backwards from wearing braces, i told it to my dentist and ask her if maybe i can remove now my lower braces and she told me this will cause space or relapse...and also on my upper braces i noticed some of my gums are overgrowing downward..what should i do?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain if you have empty spaces between teeth and you are given braces then the movement of teeth will definitely occur towards the empty spaces as per the pressure applied by the bands over the braces.

In case if the braces are removed early before the teeth completely settles after displacement then relapse can surely happen so you must wait for getting the braces removed as if the sufficient movement must have taken place the dentist will reduce the pressure applied and further movement will not take place and braces will be there only as a part of maintenance therapy..

The other part of question is that if the gums are overgrowing it means there is inflammation and swelling and the main cause of it is improper cleaning of the teeth and gums due to braces..

It will be better to get a Scaling of the teeth done and use specialized orthodontic brushes for cleaning your teeth..
Use mouthwashes and gum paints for better health of gums when there are braces..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
