What Causes Mild Pain And Blister Formation In Tonsil Post Tonsillectomy?

Hello, I had a tonsillectomy 9 days ago. All is well however yesterday I ate half a sandwich and was in severe pain afterwards. I have mild pain in my left tonsil however my right is extremely sore. Majority of the scabs have fallen off however there seems to be these little blister looking things on my right one. I was just wondering if you could suggest anything ? Thank you

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have mild pain and blister formation in tonsil post tonsillectomy which could be due to infection in throat. Mild pain is not an abnormal finding but in case if the pain is excessive you should consult your treating surgeon so that he can do a clinical evaluation and check for any infections. You should take proper antibiotic course to subside infection. You should take Tramadol and steroids to reduce inflammation and pain. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Maintain proper hygiene. avoid taking very hot and spicy food. Drink plenty of water and liquids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
