What Causes Mild Left Sided Neck And Jaw Pain?

I have been experiencing a dull achy pain that starts on the left side of my neck including the left, backside of my head. Sometimes its gradual and sometimes its sudden. There are times that it feels as if my jaw also aches, almost like a toothache as well. Its tender to the touch when it hurts. Its made worse with physical activity. It feels like a stabbing pain at times.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a muscle strain of the neck. I recommend to do a physical examination at the dentist to exclude a denture issue. Meanwhile, I suggest using Acetominophen to relieve the pain. I also recommend using a magnesium supplement. I also suggest to do gentle stretching exercises of the neck.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
