What Causes Mild Left Sided Foot Pain And Swelling Despite Taking Ibuprofen?

Left foot front area on the top between the ankle bones on either side is feeling achy, I do not recall tripping or twisting it, I noticed one morning when I awoke.I can walk on it, and if I take IB Profin, that dull ache goes away.I have a little bit of swelling, but not much, I was doing some flexing movements for several days prior.

Hello,

Regarding pain and swelling in your foot. It might be due to overuse as you mentioned so please take pain killers with added anti-inflammatory effects.

But I would also like to suggest some investigations like X-ray lateral and AP view of your foot, the uric acid level in your blood and vit D levels to know the exact cause of pain and swelling in your foot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Abrar, Internal Medicine Specialist
