What Causes Migraines And Dizziness During Pregnancy?

Hello, i am currently pregnant (14 weeks) and I ve never experience migraines this constant before. I am currently being switched to another doctor so I can not see anyone at the moment. I am worried because I am constantly dizzy. When I stand up I can t stand too long because I feel like I m going to fall over from dizziness. My head starts hurting once I get up and even right before bed. I can t even do simple tasks like picking up my sons toys off the floor because my heart rate feels like it goes up and my head starts to hurt even more, especially bending over makes it worse. I don t know what to do, but I don t feel right.

Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Headache in pregnancy may be due to migraine or anemia too.
Other causes are uncommon and associated with fever, vomiting, visual loss, seizures.
For migraine you should take timely food, adequate rest and sleep.
Avoid excessive tea, coffee or chocolates.
Take paracetamol if required.
For constant pain prophylaxis use of propranolol may be started.
Visit a neurologist for examination and prescription according to need.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health and early recovery.

Regards
Dr Deepti Verma
