What Causes Memory Loss After A Head Injury?

Hi, so I m studying to be a neurologist, and recently my grandfather got into a bad car wreck, and he was unconscious. They took him to the hospital and told him he has a mild concussion and that he ll be sore for the next couple days, let me just say the hospital he went to is very terrible. Anyways, they released him and the next day he woke up not remembering anything, or who anyone is. He tried to runaway, and he just went crazy. So we took him to another hospital and they kept him over night and ran a lot of test, but he refused a neuro MRI, so he s still not himself, and very out of it. Personally, I think he needs to test. I m seeking a neuros help/opinion! Thank you

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

He needs a MRI and that too urgent and there could be an internal bleed which is causing such symptoms. So please do the needful quickly as he will need surgery if there is bleeding inside.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Harshita, Ophthalmologist
