What Causes Lumps On The Rib Cage Associated With Severe Pain?

Hi, I have so many problems but 2 are worrying me. I have lumps on my rib cage. Lowest rib right side, from back to front. The left side is smaller and I have 2 1 on front and 1 on back. Hurts to touch and when I sleep. I have to switch sides about every 15 min. In the morning I am in much pain and at times can t even get up. So much pain. 2 times I had to go to hosp. But I also have had so many back issues. I had surgery on my L4/5 disc inserted. (I still have the brackets that held it in place until it hardened) Degeneration in S1 and above where I had surgery I have pain up my entire spine. Bulging vertebrae in the upper middle. Sorry I m not that technical. But this lump and pain on my rib cage is not associated with my back and I am worried about it.
